PWC is hosting its 3rd annual Chess Tournament for 4th and 5th grade students . The event will take place in PWC's gym on March 20th. The tournament starts at 9:00 am. and ends at 11:30 .Please join us as we crown a new PWC King/Queen!!

Dear PWC Parents And Families, PWC will be dismissing all students early on Tuesday March 19th, Wednesday March 20th, and Thursday March 21st. Students will be dismissed at 1:00 pm. so that teachers can meet with parents for report card conferences. On Wednesday March 20th, evening conferences will be held for parents from 6pm-8pm. Please reach out to your child's teacher to schedule an evening conference if you need one.

Dear PGCPRSD Families, The district needs the new Acceptable Use Policy signed to provide the students at PGCP with the most up-to-date technology policies. The form is in your Genesis parent portal and you will receive an email when it is available. Each student requires a separate form to be acknowledged by 3/15/24 to keep their Chromebooks and online access. Your Genesis portal and your student's Genesis portal will be locked until the form is completed. If you have not received the email by Friday, 3/​8/24, or cannot log into the portal, please contact your child's school for assistance. Student, Parents, and Guardians. As of today, February 21, 2024, the district will no longer be able to supply loaner Chromebooks or chargers to those students who have forgotten or lost their devices and chargers at home or elsewhere. We will only provide a loaner if the Chromebook is broken and needs a repair that will last longer than a day. Thank you.

The WIDA Access for English Language Learners assessment will be administered from February 26, 2024 through March 15, 2024. Dear parents and staff, I always receive a lot of questions on what exactly it means when the Governor declares a “State of Emergency”. Many think that it means no one is allowed on the highways and all non-essential businesses must close, including schools, but that is not the case. The Governor's declaration authorizes him to “speed State agency assistance to communities in need. It enables him to make resources immediately available to rescue, evacuate, shelter, provide essential commodities (i.e., heating fuel, food, etc.), and quell disturbances in affected localities. It may also position the State to seek federal assistance when the scope of the event exceeds the State's resources.” It is the Office of Emergency Management that has the authority to declare a State of Emergency that could result in the closing of businesses, schools, etc., and restrictions on travel such as occurred with Hurricane Sandy. Therefore, when an announcement is broadcast that the Governor has declared a State of Emergency, that does not necessarily mean that schools will automatically be closed. That is a local decision unless otherwise mandated by the Office of Emergency Management. The attached document articulates the difference between the two. PGHS NHS Toy Drive We are collecting donations of new toys and stuffed animals in their original package and not wrapped to be given out to the children of the community at our Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 2nd, 9:30 -11:30 AM in the PGHS Cafeteria.
